My issue over the concern of athletes have been struggling with the usage of steroids has widely spread among athletes and others; not only do steroids give an athlete a hard times but it’s also an unfair advantage to the other athletes and what they’ve accomplish. “Besides making muscles bigger, anabolic steroids may help athletes recover from a hard workout more quickly by reducing the amount of muscle damage during the session” (“Steroids in Sports”,2005). Now a days steroids are everywhere as an athlete. Many males and female young athletes preferably take it because they want to look and feel good when it comes to impressing someone and trying to become someone they look forward too. Young teens and adults try to cheat themselves in the career of their dreams. When it comes to a sport, teen athletes are not aware of what type of consequences may happen to them at the time. It may come to the time where it’s too late to take care of. In other cases, some athletes may like feeling the aggressive they get when they take drugs such as steroids. Athletes shouldn’t take steroids as the harmful health effects of the anabolic steroid in population wise. Many people have had their lives ruined by the use of illegal steroids and yet the desired effects are overwhelming that people tend to forget about the results and consequences that may effect. Athletes on steroids believe taking steroids will enhance their performance, strength, and size without having to put necessary work. These benefits, however, are associated with much short-term and long term risk.
In case you who are reading this does not know steroids are any numerous naturally occurring or synthetic fat soluble organic compounds having as a basis 17 carbon atom arranged in four rings and including the sterols and bile acids, adrenal and sex hormones certain natural drugs such as digits compounds and the precursors of certain vitamins.
Steroids have been widely used and spread in the early 70‘s for many other reasons rather than medical purposes. Steroids can be classified to sex steroids, corticosteroids and anabolic steroids. They all three have been a used in the medical aid in different kind of dysfunction and illness. For example, I had a friend that had terrifying medical issues in the vertebral spinal lower back, she ended up having a disease because her spine was too weak and was not developing as it should have.

| Introduction to Influence: Persuasive Speaker Essay - Persuasion: Who, What, and to Whom When people needs to say yes or needs to agree about something else, then persuasion is being used by the speaker while conveying their message. It is the goal of the speaker to make listener’s mind change and agree with him or her (Rhoads, 1997). We can try to understand this world we live in by using social psychology because it explains why people act or behave the way they do. Her doctor would only prescribe steroids for her and it rarely worked. She ended up staying weeks in the hospital because she wouldn’t resist the pain and she ended up having surgery and now she doing better. My example I gave was issued as a medical issue involving steroids. Steroids may be a great thing but when it comes to using it as an athlete they may be some issues they never expected to come across. “Steroids testing makes an athlete think about the balance between the benefits and the risk,” said Frank Uryasz director as a Drug free sport. People may say that steroids increase your performance when it comes to playing in a sport or game which is right but do not look at the negative effects it may also have or cause throughout time.
Steroids are part of top sports for about 40 years now. Anabolic steroids have been around since the 1930s, they started slowly with medical purposes accepted for recreational behaviors and soon come along with heightened athletic performance. The Rogerton and associates study also showed that steroid use in increased body size. Giorgi and co-workers tested the effects of testosterone enathate in healthy weight trainers and found in 2009. It is estimated that 1 to 3 million us athletes are taking steroids and whom was found in 2006. Physicians in the US are not allowed to prescribe these drugs for non-medical conditions. The illegal us in drugs however continues despite the fact that the sporting career of these sportsmen can be destroyed if caught. Some of these drugs athletes use also manufactured in discrete labatories across Europe and South America and find their way to American black market for the people who require them.
Through the many negative aspect of steroids are well known, there are various steroid drugs do posses undeniable benefits. Medical steroids have the benefit to treat anything and everything from asthma and kidney problems to cancerous disease. Some steroids are meant to be taken to help your body. Using small amounts in steroids may also have a certain health benefit when it comes to athletes, it may be used to prevent swelling throughout organs such as kidney as well as muscle wasting disease such as dystrophy. Anabolic steroids help build up cellular tissue, especially in muscle. There is medical benefits included involvement in replacement therapy for men whose testes fail to produce qualities of testosterone. They’re also given to HIV- positive individuals and some cancer patients to increase their appetite, maintain muscle and enhance sense of well being. Negative effect may come in hand at any time with the benefits of using steroids. Steroids may cause a negative effect on the human body not only in guys but girls as well. The harmful impact does not only stop there but suffers physically and psychology as well. Using steroids may not only help you but it may damage you inside the body by causing liver tumor, cancer, high blood pressure, kidney tumors, severe acne, shrinking of testicle, jaundice and many more effects that young teens and adults are not aware of.
There are many different types of steroids that can do bad things to your body. However, athletes tend to use anabolic steroids when it comes to sports. Anabolic steroids are synthetically produced variants of the naturally occurring male sex hormone testosterone also known as the (AAS). They can be legally prescribed to treat conditions results from hormone deficiency. Anabolic steroids are often used by athletes and body builds to muscle such as to improve in an athlete performance. They have transformed sports in a variety of horrendous ways such as shrinking testicle, development of breasts, acne, voice deepening and growth of body hair in women, as well as heart problems and may end up with having liver disease or even worse, cancer. Generally, steroids take on an overall female appearance as well as men. Females tend to get opposite affect when taking steroids in which they began to look more manly and may not have control over aggression and behavior. Steroids used to be a grown problem, it seemed like only professional, Olympic, and collegiate athletes used them. Now based on our information we’ll examine the goods in steroids analyzing vigorous steroids.
Athletes who take steroids are trying not to think nor worry about the causes. The athletes that decide to take it most likely look for a short term boost. I know most of you athletes who are reading this paper may face different obstacles in life but it shouldn’t be a decision whether you choose to wanting steroids or not. I have been a witness when it comes in athletics teenagers and steroids. Not so long ago I used to play volleyball for the school Among Carter Riverside high school and many students there do not know want their getting themselves into. As for an athlete, it takes dedication, hard work and achievement to come the athlete you are wishing to become but many others gave it their all and gave up to steroids and the chances of it. I know a friend that he is obsessed with working out and he takes so many steroids and vitamins everyday. He cannot stop and has a really bad habit; he has really bad temper and anger issues. I know most teens now a days say that steroids are an easy way out but they just listen to what others in general tell them.
In conclusion, Athletes shouldn’t take steroids because of many reasons. There so many harmful effects that can happen to your body while taking them. And only because other athletes have taken steroids does not mean you should; your body is probably not capable to handle the aggression. As I’ve said above, there many effects than may happen and teen athletes are just not aware of. As of today’s society, I don’t believe steroids are a good use for neither athletes nor a person in general. It gives many side effects and threes many aggression that the people himself or herself may not be control of. I implore you, my audience, to take action in what you’re doing. To stop these, athletes such as young adults using steroids, all professional sports need to implement a lifetime band of steroids and what they went through the stage.

Athletes that are in sports should not be allowed to consume steroids. Or if they are consuming steroids they should not be allowed to play sports. When athletes use steroids they have the advantage of many things. For example, athletes have the advantage of doing better when doing their plays and/or when they are against there opponent. This is a disadvantage to the athletes that do not consume steroids. Let’s say that two athletes are competing, one does consume steroids and the other one doesn’t, who will win? It will more than likely be the athlete consuming steroids. This would be because the steroids are anabolic and make people stronger and energetic. An athlete on steroids is obviously going to be much faster than the one that does not.
Steroid use should be avoided not also because it gives disadvantage to other athletes but also because they destroy the human body. When a person is consuming steroids it does not dramatically change your body immediately. It does make you look built and strong but it also has negative effect to the human body. Steroid use has different effects on women than men. The women using steroids will begin to have facial hair growth. Yet that is not all!!! They will just not be growing facial hair; their chest will also decrease its size. The chest affect will be the opposite for men than the women. The men’s chest will begin to increase, but at the same time their lower privates will begin to decrease.
In my opinion steroids is not a good thing to be consuming when it comes to sports. It just will not be a disadvantage to those athletes that do not consume them but it will also make negative effects to the human body. The effects that it will do to the human body can be a permanent damage to the human body. If an athlete was consuming steroids and had a great performance and later on the news found out that they were consuming steroids. It could affect the athlete’s carrier, most of the fans will think that the athlete has a bad reputation and can even get kicked off of the team. Which this would be bad for their carrier.
